Waroeng ‘SS’ is a restaurant you need to visit if you love to have a dash (or a chunk) of spiciness added to your hot white rice. As the name suggests, Waroeng SS proudly serves more than 20 types of ‘Sambal’ (chilli) that have different levels of spiciness. From just a tingle on your tongue or if you are adventurous enough to set your tongue on ‘fire’, this Javanese restaurant has it all.
To have a complete culinary experience here, you need to choose a plate of white rice with the protein of your choice such as Ayam Penyet, Ayam Bakar, Daging Empal Goreng, Itik Goreng, Ikan Talapia Goreng and many more. Then, add some vegetable dishes such as Terung Goreng Tepung, Pucuk Ubi Pedas and Cendawan Goreng for added pleasure. Lastly, choose one or a few types of ‘Sambals’ that will make your meal more wholesome.
For people who can’t really stand the hotness of chili, we suggest Sambal Kicap to taste just a slight spiciness and more sweetness, and those who want to dial the spicy level up a few notches can go for Sambal Bawang, Sambal Orek Tempe and more.
